Meet Wendy Verwey, the dynamic force behind helping tourism businesses across Canada take flight! As a proud single mom, Wendy knows a thing or two about juggling life's adventures while still carving out a path to her own version of paradise.

Hailing from southern Ontario, Wendy's journey in the tourism world began as a high school exchange student in Bern, Switzerland, where she fell head over heels for the industry. Fast forward through her tourism management education, Wendy has since dipped her toes into every corner of the tourism universe.

From mastering the art of giving directions to Niagara Falls upside down on maps (yes, you read that right!) to navigating the ins and outs of cruise line and tour company operations in Alaska and the Yukon, Wendy's resume reads like a globe-trotter's dream. With experience spanning hotels, Canada Customs, airlines, truck stops, motels, and restaurants, Wendy's seen it all, done it all, and still has a smile on her face!

Now calling Central Alberta home for the past two decades, Wendy is not just an expert in corporate strategy development—she's also mastered the art of designing a life she doesn't need a vacation from. Retiring at the ripe age of 41, Wendy's now dedicated to work that feels more like play. From managing her thriving Airbnb and "emotional support human for dogs" dog-sitting business to coaching, mentoring, and hosting her podcast, FIRE Yourself First, Wendy's passion for helping others live their best lives knows no bounds.

But it's not all work and no play for Wendy! When she's not busy shaping the future of Canadian tourism, you can find her exploring hidden gems as a "hometown tourist," soaking in breathtaking views on hikes, or pondering life's mysteries from the tranquility of her kayak or paddleboard, always with her kids by her side.
