Jeff Hollett

Hailing from the island of Newfoundland, Jeff joined Firecircle in January 2024 as an experienced economic development practitioner. Over the years, Jeff has provided business start-up and expansion advice to hundreds of entrepreneurs in northern and remote parts of the country. He has also delivered numerous business grant, contribution and loan programs and is an experienced business financing consultant.

Jeff is also a life-long, serial entrepreneur who’s varied business interests have included a food processing business, a gift/art shop, an environmental consulting practice and a chain of restaurant franchises. He absolutely loves the thrill of starting a new business and seeing it grow. He equally enjoys the thrill of helping other entrepreneurs start and grow their own businesses. While Jeff has worked with entrepreneurs from all sectors of the economy, tourism operators have always been his favourite group to work with. This is what led him to Firecircle.

A huge nature enthusiast, outside of work, Jeff heads for the outdoors every chance he gets. He especially loves long backpacking trips through remote wilderness areas, where his (quite significant) fear of being eaten by a bear is outweighed by his love of wild spaces. Jeff also enjoys nature-based citizen science and can often be found lying flat on the ground, trying to identify a lichen, liverwort or slime mold (yep, slime molds are a thing). A big believer in the benefits of connecting with nature, he often volunteers his time to lead guided nature hikes.
